barcelona 10-13th june

weather was very fantastic when we were in barce. it was terribly hot in the day, almost like sg, but chilly in the mornings and evenings. barcelona is one of my fav cities! it's a happy happy city..

la sagrada familia

this church has been under construction, has been for the past 180 years and wont be completed in our life time. read some reviews about it on the net that says that seeing it will evoke some emotion for you; whether you love it or hate it. i personally dont like it. it looked like a monster dripping slime and was suddenly frozen in action.

we're inside one of those things over there.

the view downwards

parc guell

this is a park by gaudi. this guy has weird artistic sense manz haha.

the longest seat..like ermm...hahaha ok lar it was quite nice except that it was SO FREAKING HOT that day.

people mountain people sea..there were a LOT of people!

montjuic hill

crucify me!

most people take the cable car up to the peak of the hill, but we found it too pricey (15 euros) to take the cable car, so...we walked up!! following the cable car track..

jump jump up the hill i go...the higher we went, the more spectacular the views were..

finally we reached the top where the castle is...

i cant tell where the sky starts and where the sea ends..

beautiful view of the barce port/harbour

i wanna be a sea gull....free, freedom!!! to glide against the blue blue sky...

FC barcelona stadium

ok for people who know me well enough, you should know i'm not a big soccer fan..actually i'm NOT a soccer fan AT ALL. i still confuse EPL with champions league and stuff like that..so it was under the pleading of my bf that we visited the barce stadium. i have no idea how good/ungood the barce soccer team is, but they seem to have quite a number of trophies and stuff in the stadium, so i guess it cant be that bad.

nonethless despite my ignorance and lack of interest in football, the sheer size of the stadium still managed to impress me. walking through the different sections of the stadium, we 'lived' the experience of being a football player. we walked through the changing rooms, the rooms where press conferences were held, after parties were held where there were mock champagne and food, the places where the coaches and managers sit, the vip box, the commentators' box...like wow! i tried to imagine myself being one of the players about to step onto the view, facing the tens of thousands of fans...........

the commentators' box

a photo in the museum. focus!

the most amazing thing is that, we actually bumped into zhenyuan and his friend at the stadium! what a coincidence to meet familiar faces in...europe!

back at la ramblas

bf, zy n friend

the nightmare before christmas

our first offical spanish meal! that didnt taste quite tasty...but bf said it usually taste better than what we had....

more pics to come...but cos i dont have the pics with me..so it's a little hard to update a proper account. to be updated again!

ugly

just returned from zouk and am feeling only mildly intoxicated now. proud of myself that i really controlled my drinking tonight! the drinks were never ending....and i could have drank so so so much more!

went there only with chris but it was to no surprise that we met so many of our friends that we werent expecting to. first, i met kenneth and fabian at wine bar, then we met adrian at velvet, followed by mark huang!! i dont know why i'm ALWAYS bumping into this guy at zouk. it's a real coincidence because he just came back from melb on sat. it was good seeing this chao ah beng though haha...

went over to zouk members expecting to see kenneth only, but met alvin, mark lim, calvin, yy and yanling also soon after. played stupid games, drank and attempted to get each other drunk. saw some rather common sights but got rather bothered by it so i left with chris early...

after coming back from europe, i found myself..
1. sweating very very easily these days
2. having an extremely low tolerance for small spaces..
3. even more chilled than before...

time to sleep. sigh.

listening to sun yan zi's an ning. particularly soothing.

bummer

i just sort of gave up a decent, permanent job because i've planned to travel to the states in august, and it just doesnt make sense to take 3 weeks of leave after working for a month.

tell me i'm not crazy!

terence law yu xi! you better be nice to me over there! bahx.

but as they say, opportunities, good or bad, come by all the time. letting this one pass, might mean a better choice in the near future.

so, right now, i'm an official bummer! till the end of august.

to answer anonymous: i'm not exactly an arty farty person. i cant talk about literature or paintings or works of arts in depth, and i've never pretended i know a lot about them. all i know is that i like to watch plays and musicals, and i enjoyed les mis tremendously. i bought the album and i'm repeating the list of songs on my itunes.

London

it's london! a couple of weeks late from updating..

the lovely fraser service apartment that we stayed at with tianxiang.

our first encounter in london, upon reaching victoria station via a shuttle bus ride from stansted air port, not heathrow unfortunately because we took a budget airline from holland. the air tic was only 1 cents! we paid 36 euros each for air port taxes and that's all. london was bustling with activities!

the buckingham palace

after seeing so many palaces in europe, this is really nothing...

the london eye

i have this thing for merry go rounds..

st james park

arent they adorable??

hyde park

peace in the park

st paul's cathedral

the london bridge

london bridge is really just an ordinary, practical concrete bridge. it was burned down numerous times and rebuilt.

the tower bridge

just imagine horse carriages and soldiers marching...

horseys stuck in the traffic

bright pink cabbie!

queen's theatre where les miserables was played. speaking of which, i just bought the lesmis album yesterday. this one is by the orginal london cast..maybe i'm just being bias because i watched the musical recently only, but i actually prefer the singing by the current cast...still i loved it! you got to watch it my fav songs are 'on my own' and 'i dreamed a dream'...

waiting for the show to begin//our tics, 5th row from the front! damn good seats.

the night is always more romantic...and colder!!! was freezing my ass off when these photos were being faithfully taken by my darling..

the big ben

the atmosphere is always more romantic when it's cold and dark...that's why it's so hard to feeel romantised in singapore!

i apologise for the haphazard way of posting my pics in this post...photos fatigue..hah..
