how am i feeling?

did a photo shoot with some clubsnap photographers this morning at fort canning. the number of photographers was rather overwhelming at first. there were 5 models, and each model was assigned 5 photographers and every 15 mins or so we rotated amongst the different groups. was supposedly from 9-12 but the rain kept us in the shelter for some time and the shoot dragged on till 2pm. sigh. it was hot initially and i was perspiring like a dog..could feel my make up running. legs were infested with mosquitoes bites during some shots with the good old trees and their giant roots.

it got a little tiring..with all the posing, smiling, standing around in 3 inches heels.. "smile!", "look here pls!", "tilt your head a little towards me..", "ok good! hold it there!", "turn your body to the right".. still..it was fun, and it's money!

some shots taken by one of the photographers today, christ..he is really fast with the editing!

ok a litte 'ba ba' here..sheesh..

i was actually posing for another photographer when he took this, which is why there isnt any eye contact with the camera. the colours are great..but i look a little..strange in that pose..hmm..

met up with dearie at partyworld after that, lunch at holland v and home sweet home.

more dvds to watch! we finally can watch LOST!! whee!!! thanks chiakieee!! hehe..been catching a few episodes of full house everyday too. oooh it's funnnnyyyyyyyy.....

You have a vivid imagination and this is good. Great inventors, explorers all had inventive, imaginative minds. Your friends and acquaintances may consider you over-imaginative and given to fantasy or day-dreaming. So what ? this is a part of your character and charm.

Being a likeable person you get on well with neighbours and friends. You don't need anything to 'Rock your boat'. You want to 'love' and to be loved'.

Everyone has to compromise at times and circumstances are such that at this time you are feeling the need to do just that. Put all of your hopes on the back burner and let matters flow for a time - forgo some of the things you want. The good times are just around the corner.

As of late, you have been experiencing untold stress and this is a result of continuous frustration. You haven't been taking care of all your physical needs and it's beginning to show. It would seem that you have a need to find someone to whom you can really relate - someone perhaps whose standards are as high as your own. You want to be different - to be individualistic - to stand out from the common herd. Your inherent control of your sensual instincts is restricting your ability to give yourself to open up freely but this being on your own, being lonely, often makes you feel the need to give up some of your strict standards to surrender to the general flow - to be like everyone else; a part of the herd. Deep down you regard such instincts as weaknesses to be overcome. You would like to be loved or admired for yourself alone. You demand recognition and tender loving care.

Being afraid that you may be prevented from achieving your hopes and dreams is making you anxious and nervous. As a dreamer your ideas can at times move into the realm of fantasy and you could be following that so called illusive dream.

got this website off jas's blog and did the test..http://www.paulgoldinresearch.com/cg/index.htm

some parts of it are scarily true..haha..but not all of course..

bumble bee

busy busy busy..i've been busy these days. so many things to learn and to do. i've been working at A21, giving tuition, and many other blahs blahs blahs. this week has been strange. i've been getting a lot of unanticipated 'lobangs'. audition for a channel 5 sitcom..i presume, judging from the script, although i'm still not very sure. doesnt matter anyway, doubt i'll get it, since i dont particularly have any acting experience. but oh well, the experience was unexpectedly fun haha.

several events coming up too. still undergoing the selection process.

my mind is often bombarded with conflicting view points. it's true; there are always 2 sides to a coin..to be lured by the positives, yet made hesitant by the inevitable negatives. swayed both ways, the only option is to make my stand and stand by it. no turning back this time...not again...sigh..but it's just so difficult....

watched the lake house with dearie on wed. romantic romantic romantic! some questions abt the plausibility of the plot...but hey..just forget abt it and enjoy the loove story manz.

keeping this short..need to wake up early tmr..

believe

when you've lost heart, remember the reasons why you began this journey in the first place... how often have i seen myself being so enthusiastic about something that i find myself lost in it. consumed by my passion, i find myself dreaming it, eating it, drinking it, sleeping it..and then just as fast as it comes, it fleets away. one breath, the fire extinguishes..

i'm my own obstacle. when you believe, nothing is impossible, but first....you must believe.

i was hasty the previous time. it was complacency that brought me down. it was zeal without skills.
this time round, i want to do it the right way.

pray let me find back my lost hope. let me believe.

Movies

oh did i mention i watched 4.5 movies yesterday? haha. sense and sensibility, and half of geisha in the morning, pirates of the caribbean in the afternoon, bring it on and jia ge you qian ren at night. sense and sensibility is exactly the kind of romantic film i would love, set in the early 19th century English society. ahh cant help comparing it with pride and prejudice..p&p is still more beautiful..in terms of cinematography, and even the music..whereas s&s is more subtle..

in love, love, loveeee....whee~

speaking of which, i just found out keira knightley is actually my age! god..ok to be exact, she is 2 months and 26 days younger than me haha. manz..i feel so..unaccomplished. :(

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest

johnny depp is hoooot!
i think i've just copied enough dramas and movies to last me for a week. brokeback mountain, ru guo ai, zai yi ci shuo wo ai ni (starring andy lau), full house, er mo zai sheng bian (starring yang chen ling!)..unwatched dvds like memoirs of a geisha, desperate housewives season 1 & 2, pirates of the caribbean 1, infernal affairs 1, 2 & 3, pearl harbour, bad boys, italian job, the fast and the furious, pearl harbour....whoaa....still more to be copied, the only problem is both my c and d drives are running out of space! time to get an external hard drive!

Hong Kong travels (continued)

day 4: ocean park & the peak

reliving my childhood days..the panda was the most adorable creature i've ever seeeen!!!

strangled by jelly fishes

dearie tried the vertical drop but i didnt..toooo scccarrrry forr meee!! lovely views from the top of the tower. we took other tamer rides like..eh hem..ferris wheel, rollar coasters, viking ship.

beautiful buildings

the peak

the city of lights, resplendent, views that take your breath away

day 5

fish street and causeway bay, the shopping paradise, shopping malls everywhere.

lan kwai fong, hk's version of boat quay

the area is pretty small, it's like a village of small pubs and clubs. we went to this club called volar, supposedly one of the top clubs in hk, sth like hk's zouk. inside it's pretty much the same as phuture, except on a much smaller scale. the music was good, r&b whole night long. met up with arthur, who was one of the party's host. the theme was retro night, so it was rather cute, seeing some of the people dress as with afro hairdo, bell bottoms, big earrings. fun fun!

day 6: exploring hk island...

dinner at this resturant that serves the largest portion of rice i've ever seen! even dearie couldnt finish his share of food. then we went to this really TALL shopping mall at mongkok. it was 12 stories high, and it has a very very long escalator.

soho

next we went to to exploring on hk island. hk is weird, old, run down buildings run alongside brand new towering apartments. dear dear is standing a verrry verrrry long escalator, supposedly around 1km long? that brings you from ground level up up uppp the hill..

at the hk exhibition and convention centre

pretty lights once more

day 7: shenzhen

ok didnt really take many photos today cos we went for massage. haha..

showcasing our pig sty......

a room the size of the toilet in my bf's house. tiny tiny! nonetheless it's free accomodation, so how would we complain..haha..oops btw michael, if you're reading this..offence man! it's small compared to sg apartments, but we're really not complaining. we enjoyed our stay. :)

day 8: lamma island

dear was taking photos for me most of the time, hence excluded from most of the photos..hehe..whee..lamma island a sleepy fishing village, something like ubin, except much bigger, more of a tourish attraction..and less mosquitoes.

nice views

sh loves ym..whee~

ave of stars

day 9: madame tussaud's, wax museum

we had soooo much fun taking photos with all the stars!!! see if you can spot who the stars are.

my new bf! top right hand corner..hehe..

princess yiming!!! shoonie bush!! shoonie hitler.

day 10

big buddha

po lin monestary

tai o, a fishing village

i love this place...it's so..tranquil...
changes

changes are good. they usually signify progress.

venturing out from your comfort zone, means stepping into a foreign arena. no clue what you're getting yourself into..it could be better, it could be worse..but how would you ever know, if you never tried? would you rather stay put where you were, or would you rather try, and risk having it all taken away...

a new blogskin. a change.

Hong Kong travels

Day 1: Setting off...

a family lunch at the air port, dad's birthday

my darling sis, with 2 jokers behind.

sunset from the plane

touched down: mongkok!

day 2 & 3: macau

back home from a supposedly girls' night out at zouk, with sarah, amanda and rachel, my bestest friends in rgs. havent seen them in a while...it was good, catching up. :) hang around with marvin, sarah's buddy from smu, and his friends. phuture was just as usual - crowded, we were packed like sardines. we didnt have enough alcohol to intoxicate us, neither was the music good enough to keep us entertained. nonetheless, the good company made the night enjoyable. we swore to meet up again a fornight later, but knowing sarah.......haha...sarah, if you're reading this, pls leave a tag!!! :p

bumped into friends i havent seen in a while - weiliang, paul, felix, siwei.

feeling sleepy now... but it's never recommended to sleep with dripping wet hair right... playing deeply romantic music on my lappie now, and attempting to apply the least pressure on my keyboard so that i wont wake my sis up. haha she is gonna wake up in another hour for school.

all alone. peace and music. the night's mine, or rather, the dawn's mine.

back from hk

i'm back from the land of giordanos, bossinis, balenos, espirits, sasa, xu liu shans, nu ren jie, temple street, causeway bay.....just as well, i'm penniless! after drawing hk$300 from my dbs account last afternoon, had a last burst of shopping spree, we were left with money to buy a tiny box of lao po bing and a bk dinner before boarding the plane. haha i left hk with hk$1 in my possession. pathetic isnt it!

guess what..my lugguage case exploded on the bus, when i was on my way to the air port! we spent a few moments panicking, frantically laying the case down, and dear dear had to sit on it to try closing it back again. hahaha it was embarrassing! i think there were some uncles sniggering at us. grrr...lousy luggage case...:p at the air port, i bought raffia string to tie around the case...just in case it burst again. -shakes head-

come to think abt it..i really dont think i bought a lot of stuff....

shopping buys
2 wallets
2 bags - bought them at temple street, it was fun bargaining haha.
2 pairs of shoes
2 skirts
an adidas jacket - hk$150..cheap and it's real!
espirit jeans, sweater & long sleeve top
5 giordano tops....umm...i've probably been to like 7 different giordanos..
3 uniglo tops (spag, polo, singlet)
shorts - hk$59..cheap..
1 t-shirt - hk$39..cheap cheap..
pink tank top - hk$19..cheap cheap cheap!
make up remover, eye liner, eye shadow - comestics must-haves
hair clip
belt
2 paintings - nice niceee...
2 street signs - lan kwai fang & causeway bay
mine train key chains at ocean park
keychains at madamme tussads - with jackie chan
3 vcds - geisha, pride & prejudice, sense & sensibility..dear complained that all the movies i bought are boring!!! hmph..
2 buddha crystal thingies - bought at po lin monastery..they are cute! for my mum..
lao po bing

umm..i wont think this is a lot, would you? considering i've been there for 11 days. actually i feel that i've been really blessed for this trip, because i've saved a lot. accomodation was free, some meals were free because my bro's friends' parents treated us, transportation was free in macau cos it was again paid for by others, some of my buys were paid by my bro....so why am i still brokee??

ok why bothering thinking so much. back to reality. giving tuition tmr!

taking off and landing on today's flight on jetstar were scary. give me sq anytime...but...noo moneeey..whatt to dooo...

shall post the zillion number of pics i took in hk tmr! it's bed time.

the shopinator in action

8 days spent in hong kong have gone by and there are 3 more days left to go. i'm enjoying myself a lot, exploring unfamiliar grounds and quaint streets they've here, drinking in both the pretty urban and natural sights..contrary to popular belief that hk is merely about shopping and eating, this place actually offers a lot more than just that, well that's if you bother to go exploring, which me and my dear did, cos we've plenty of time here haha.

still...i wouldnt disagree with the fact that the shopping is...two thumbs up here! i've just got myself an infinite supply of clothes, judging from the number of tops i've bought. happy happy happy!! nothing makes me happier than shopping ahaha.

tired, been sleeping at 4am almost everyday and waking up early. every minute is precious!

things i've been doing the past few days..clubbing at lan kwui fang, exploring soho area, having (terror!) massage in shenzhen, going to lamma island today, shopping shopping shopping...

me checking out the hk map with sight seeing attractions

fishes, fishes everywhere! clownfish cost hk$10 each! how i wish i could bring them back to singapore..

ok this is dumb but i'm too sleepy to blog anymore....haha more pics to come soon...

Wednesday, July 12, 2006

am currently in hong kong right now. staying at michael's place, which is at mongkok, a rather vibrant spot in hk. here is a giordano opposite the building i stay at, bossini diagonally across, macs and g2000 on one side, and the mtr (hk's mrt) is merely 100m away.

the weather here is hot, hot and hot! not the sunny kind of hot..rather..the air is perptually warm, and extremely humid. we are normally drenched in sweat by mid afternoon, and dying for the coolness of air conditioned shopping malls.

was in macau on sunday and monday, came back to hk last night, and went to the very famous ocean park and the peak today. enjoyable, lovely views, though strangely, the sight of city lights is starting to lose its appeal to me...perhaps i've seen too much of it.....tired! the heat drains one's energy.

there is a lot of shopping waiting to be done..havent exactly bought much yet so far because we're so busy with sightseeing.

all in all..apart from the dreadful weather, i do love hk! the pretty bright lights, the ultra tall buildings, the zillions of shopping malls and shopping districts...it's such a vibrant city. bustling with activities day and night........

ok i need to sleep...4 hours of sleep last night was definitely insufficient..*yawns*
