back from a short trip in bangkok and had piles of work waiting for me, fortunately i managed to clear most of the backlog today.
bangkok was good. to our relief (or disappointment, can't decide which is it), we didnt meet with much inconvenience from the protests. not much excitement there, though we did managed to get a glimpse of the red shirts and military at khao san area.
it was SCORCHING hot.
we got conned watching the tiger show. so people who are reading this, please do not be as dumb dumb as us. if you want to watch, dont go to patphong. also, always go with a local if possible, otherwise, give it a miss. you wont be missing out on much.
it's the usual story. the guy who brought us there told us we only have to pay 200 baht. we went, there were only 4 other customers in the pub, 2 angmoh men and 2 jap ladies. we thought that since there were big angmohs around, they wont dare to do anything. after 45 mins, the 2 angmohs left, so we followed. unfortunately we were a bit slow, the angmohs got away, but we were told we had to pay 2600 baht!!! faints! bf argued with the guy and the guy hit bf in the stomach (not hard enough to cause any damage, only enough to be offensive). in the end we managed to negotiated down to 600 baht and left. the 2 jap girls suffered the same fate as us. they saw us leaving and decided to leave, and managed to get off with 600 baht also.
so, that's the story.
moving on...
to be continued.

musing in a sat afternoon
it's raining.
from the last that i remembered, it hasnt rained like this for quite a while.
just returned from a business trip from KL last night. it was scorching desert hot. what a nice change! for once, i'm contented staying at home.
but then again, i'm off to bangkok tomorrow. :p despite the 'bloody' protests and all, we're going ahead with the trip.
this business trip wasnt as packed as the previous ones, but just as intensive. i've got so much to learn, absorb and digest, and so she said: you've to get up to speed.
you can't be simple minded anymore - the corporate world is not as simple as you think.
apr and may are going to be as hectic, with a few trips being planned ahead already.
johor - 3 apr
penang - 7-11 apr
kl - 14-17 apr
kuching/sibu/sarawak/brunei - mid may
umm..looking forward to more challenges.
