hong kong, here i come!

i'm finally going to hong kong! flight is 3.45pm tomorrow. exciting, excited. bringing a half-filled case to bring back all the goodies i anticipate i'm going to buy over there hehe. looking forward to the shopping, the yummy dim sum, chou toufu; looking forward to meeting my friends, and spending quality time with my bf. :)

will be going to hk first with dearie, and then we'll join bro and hanfai in macau on sunday, and spend the night at rita's aunt's place in macau. back to hk on mon. we will all be bunking in at michael's place. accomodation costs saved! which is why i have the luxury of staying in hk till the 18th..a good 11 days spent abroad!

so..till the 18th....

---

dearie, the sweet and sour pork was lovely today!! :)
i'm sorry for my outburst. :(

---

i'm not actually an ice queen.
neither am i a difficult person.
i dont mean to be unfriendly, or insociable.
it's not my intention to appear cool, aloof..or arrogant.
but there are times when i just cant help retreating into my own private world..
a stubborn denial to comply with social calls.
i call it the i-cant-be-bothered-abt-what-u-think-of-me mode.

---

have you ever felt yourself trying to be someone else, so that you can impress the person you're talking to? so that you'll appear smarter, less ignorant, more mature, more endearing..whatever.. anyone but yourself..someone with a little less imperfection. sometimes i find myself doing that, doing intelligence-check on sentences through my brain before output, for fear that i'll say something stupid and get laughed at. so there are times i remain silent, because i gathered it's better to appear unresponsive than dumb.

haiya. and then at the end of the day, i ask myself,"what for?". what for pretend to be someone i'm not..so what if i appear stupid to the other person.. so be it then. if the person cant accept me as who i am... then... forget it man. life is short. if i've to go on worrying about what everyone else thinks abt me, i'm gonna lead a really sad life.

birthday surprise

met up with andre on tues night in town..and he thought i totally forgot that 4th july was his bday! hahaha the funniest thing was that jon n i actually planned a surprise dinner for him at altivo, mt faber. jon even sms me before i met him,"eh pretend you forgot. he kept saying that u've forgotten n he is damn angry abt it." HA HA. :p so i pretended i forgot all abt it and strangely enough, he made no mention of it at all while we were tgr.

guess who is this??

haha for once andre teo looks slim!!! :p he was forced to wear the blazer at zara by me.

so we loitered around town for close to 2 hours, and then i came up with some story that i had to meet an old friend at mt faber and he HAD to follow me. the second funniest thing was that andre teo kept complaining on and on AND on abt me dragging him up to mt faber..so unwillingly was he...i was struggling not to control myself..if not i would probably have burst out laughing and gave the game away. hehe..i'm good!

photos taken by jon! with is brand new 1.6k camera..very nice!! :)

looks like the practice i've done in cambodia have proved to be of use!

3 cheers for me, myself and i!! i feel so housewifey..haha..

dinner menu
1. unagi
2. omelette w mushrooms

5. rice (cooked using pot and water! no using of rice cooker! and it turned out well..to our relief..)
apple juice in wine glasses..haha my attempt to get all classy and romantic.
6. apple and orange for dessert!! hahaha..

it's just a very simple meal, but it's a start! and it's really my first geniune hand in cooking...(excluding the times i had to cook at obs...or home econs lessons during sec 1..or..maggie mee in hall..)

dearie, dearie's mum and dearie's auntie joyce..haha..

goodie goodie!!

it was fun! we should do this more often dearie. :)

thurs: A21
I've started working at A21! A21 is a shore selling outdoor equipment at chinatown point. i did consignment for them to raise funds for project angel previously, and gordon, the boss has asked me to help out because he is lacking in manpower. so there i am! first day was just spent orientating myself at the store, looking at all the different equipment they have and listening to lectures on their functions blah blah...surprisingly time didnt pass as slowly as i thought it would. i actually enjoyed myself and learnt a lot from gordon...about business and marketing. interesting interesting!

watched superman returns after that. i thought it was pretty good. the usual hero-saves-the-day kind of movie, but oh well, it's superman, what else can you expect. SUPERMAN is CUTE though!!!!!!!!!!!! he takes my breath away!!!! hahaha..

fri: breakfast feast
and..me and dearie finally woke up in time for breakfast!!! this is a very rare occurance for us..haha..we went to a hawker centre somewhere in marine parade.

dear dear eating fish ball noodles

soya bean, you tiao, and chay tao kway!

my ji chung fan...yum yum yum...

after breakfast, we went back to dear's place and concussed for the next 2 hours. hahaha..

new asia bar at swissotel
finally went there with dear dear and jackson on fri night. it's a bar at 72rd floor of swissotel. lovely views, but i figured one will cease to feel amazed at the sights if you see them too often. it wasnt my first time, so i wasnt as taken as i was the first time.

crossroads at suntec

white wine was simply divine, other than that, the guys had beer, i had a berlini, and we ate pizza too. :)

jackson and dearie..club hopping to mos. happening eh! but mos was b-o-r-i-n-g. we only went there cos we had free entries.

there are more things to blog abt, like my project angel gathering on sat, and today's outing to sentosa, plus the feast we had after that at geylang. but these has got to wait..tired tired..and a little sunburnt. miss tay needs to rest!

i'm on newspaper!

ok not really the newspaper, rather i'm on digital life, a publication that comes together with the straits times every tuesday.

thanks to gavin, who informed me about it. :) oh well..it's not like i read the straits times everyday...

urps..the pic is so blurred that i doubt a lot of people can tell it's me...and they covered my mouth! haha..

me, wearing the silly looking bluetooth ring handset with a finger in my ear. voice signals are supposedly transmitted through the finger bones into the ear canal...*shrugs*...what technology can do these days...

today

had a really lovely day today! :) wo shi xin fu de nu ren!

we had a double date today. me and dearie, met up with jassie and her beau, derek for dim sum at yumcha today. it was...YUMMIES!!! haha cant wait to go hk, i can have dim sum everyday for breakfast, lunch and dinner until i get sick of it. after a very fulfilling meal, and a bill of $90 that took us by surprise at first, we went chinasquare to check out the toys, because both bfs are toys-crazy.

me and bestie, she trying to look cool in my specsy

next stop: cycling at east coast park

tandem cycling was fun!! although dearie was pedalling most of the time...hahaha..

guy cable skiing! the newest toy in ecp!! or maybe i just havent been there for a long timee...

cable ski station..nice isnt it.

hunks galore

(unfortunately andre, u're not one of them...hehehe...:p)

just came back from zouk. there was some post polo championships party. whoa there were plenty of big, hunky boys. but ok lar, haha dun worry dear, see see only, looks alone arent enough to attract me. i realise the personality of a person plays a larger role in attracting me to him.

judging from looks alone is like looking at a book cover without knowing its contents.

it's amazing how small the world is. one of the boys recognised me from the ndu carnival i did a few months ago, during the 'nalgene' era where i was desperately trying to sell bottles to raise funds for pa7.

another one stayed just below me in eusoff hall! i stayed at D3 and he at D1, but we never knew each other existed until today. haha. crapz. and among others, it was easy to find common friends.

we are all connected to each other, in some way or another. when paths crossed, lives overlapped, even if it's just for the moment, and then they possibly diverge again.

i always say, if it's meant to be, the person will be there with you through your joys and cries. however there are always others that are destined to be mere passer-bys in your life...just a feather swath..and then goodbye...

there are some things in life, that are meant to be accepted. no amounts of 'whys' and 'hows' are going to improve your understanding. it's...just the way things are.

ok a lot of da dao li today..ahh very sleepy!! it's sleeping time.

sweet sorrow

i'm especially satisfied, because the hols up to this moment in time, has been really fulfilling. i felt i've left behind a trail of very good and happy memories, that on retrospect many years down the road, will bring plenty of smiles and laughter.

today marked an end to the communicasia exhibition; farewell to all the lovely docomo staff that we've spent the past week with!

how should you feel when you look at someone in the eye and know that perhaps, you're never ever going to see him again for the rest of your life?

i feel especially attached to this japanese 'family' this year, as compared to last year. this year, bonds were made stronger; there were more talk, more laughter, more jokes, more interaction...

partings are such sweet sorrow.

the clothes rack, so neat eh!

me and mika! she isnt one of us, but she dressed up in our uniform at the celebration we had after the exhibition ended, as an appreciation to all the hard work we've put in over the days. totally kawaii!!!!

seiji, apparently the cutest guy in docomo. all the girls have developed major crushes on him! my fav guy in the docomo booth too!!!.....

...hence this is another picture of both of us haha...

all the staff, these japanese are really such adorable people haha..

smiles, for all the good that has passed.
